What is ‘unusual’ about Unusual Publications?

Unusual Publications is a not-for-profit independent publishing venture run by writers and artists.

We publish works of quality and originality, creating beautiful books that are a joy to look at and to handle, as well as to read.

Unusual Publications does not conform to the ‘business as usual’ publishing model that puts the interests of the publisher ahead of the interests of authors and readers.

We are a publishing venture run by writers and artists who, between them, have editorial, proofreading, and book-design skills.

We are committed to giving priority to the publication of small works up to 100 pages.

By creating books, booklets, tracts, and essays that are accessible, yet robust, we invite readers to engage in the process of making meaning together.

Unusual Publications does not accept unsolicited manuscripts. However, we encourage authors to do what we have done: gather together with like-minded creatives and set up their own independent publishing enterprise.
